This site is a result of the investigations I have done while restoring a number of LC's. I originally collected the information on this site for my own use but due to all the help and assistance I have had from so many fellow LC enthusiasts I decided I would make it accessible to anyone attempting to restore there bike to original condition.

While I have made every effort to find a definitive answer to the long running question "what is standard" I have come to the conclusion that there is no such thing. You should remember that when originally built they were built to a price and not a standard hence suppliers would change along with the finish of the parts they supplied to Yamaha during the bikes production run.

My Bikes

These are some of the bikes that I have owned or still own over the years.

Not my first two stroke, but one of the best bikes I ever had. Went all over on that bike and never let me down. Passed my test on it and traded it in for an RD400 that thing was going to kill me.

RD250 AC After the RD400 came a CB400/4, CX500 then this CB900 FA.

CB900FA
First LC I ever restored 250 UK matching numbers, even made it into the Classic Bike mag Classic Bike of The Year top 10, was shown on there stand at Edxcel did'nt win though.

RD250LC Second LC I restored UK matching number 350.

RD350LC
My first attempt at something a little different with a German 350LC. Full FZR250 3LN front end with a stem swop for an LC stem, ZXR750 front master cylinder with remote res and ZXR750 clutch perch. Custom built headlight bracket with R1Z250 headlight mounts and custom indicator mounts for LED indicators. FZR 250 backwheel complete just needed some new spacers, Brembo rear caliper on custom hanger and YPVS350 rear Master Cylinder and Triumph rear brake fluid res. Ebay ally rad, set of TSA pipes, recessed rear light and custom made rad cover. Just finished so running in, and fine tuning.

First new bike I ever had, went to buy more parts for the 350LC on my 350 got talked into taking one for a test ride and bought it. Full Akra carbon system sounded loverly and lots of other nice bit. But even with a Yamaha Comfy seat fitted it was so not comfortable to ride.
